Ham Radio Expeditionary Group (HREG) is
an informal group of Amateurs who share ideas, technical knowledge,
and
participation in group projects. Our
only requirement is that the members
actively participate.
There are NO dues, or membership fees.
Having no officers nor structure of any
significance, every member is equal to every other one. This means that,
for
example, if you want to start a project, start one. No permission is needed.
You want an official group badge
or ball cap? Have one made, whatever color or design
you like. Contest? Great idea! We enjoy
this lack of structure
and ensuing equality. It avoids the usual club
problems of personalities, politics, and factions.
Moreover, our egos do not even require
that the group continue to exist. If the group continues to serve a need
via
our group projects, fine. If not, than the group will die, as well
it should !!! There are far to many
Ham Radio Clubs out there that simply
exist for no useable purpose other than to collect dues and have club
dinners
so that the members can get a chance to see each other and feel like
they belong to something.
HREG is "hands on, on the air"!
